The Easter break is over, and that means the UK boxed charts have entered. It’s been another quiet week for Nintendo, with two of the major Big N titles in the top 10. Another case for the usual suspects.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey were fourth and 10th respectively, with Mario Kart one place ahead and Odyssey two places behind. We’ve seen Super Mario Odyssey sales skyrocket thanks Super Mario Bros movieWe wonder if this streak will continue.
However, the rest of the charts are dominated by PS5 and sports titles. This week, FIFA 23 tops the list, with 46% of sales coming from the PS5 version, and 26% for the Switch version. number one last week, Resident Evil 4now in second place, but it is still selling well.
The last of us part two Saw a massive jump in sales, going from 30 last week to 5th this week — we wonder if a lot of people finished Part 1 after HBO’s acclaim The last of us Show up, and now move on to the sequel? The only new release in the top ten is EA Sports PGA Tour, which launched on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S on April 7th.
Nintendo has plenty of games in the UK’s top 40, however, Minecraft has slipped out of the top 10, still holding Pokémon Scarlet & Violet (at 21st and 16th respectively). Metroid Prime Remastered also remains in the top 40, although it has dropped to #31.
