On the last day of the two-day meeting, the foreign ministers prepared a document with recommendations, which included expanding cooperation between SCO member states in the fields of investment, technology, trade, defense and cultural relations. The event in Goa was reported to the national media.
Earlier in the day, representatives of India, Russia, China, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan discussed issues such as economic cooperation, regional security and international geopolitical situation.
In addition, they reviewed topics related to business development, traditional medicine, youth empowerment, Buddhist tradition, as well as science and technology.
On the sidelines of the meeting, as scheduled, Indian External Affairs Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar spoke with his Russian and Chinese counterparts on mutual and international interests.
Jaishankar and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov addressed a wide range of issues, including cooperation between their countries and the conflict in Ukraine, national media reported.
Indian Foreign Minister and his Chinese counterpart Qin Gang when they discussed the common border issue along the Line of Control in Ladakh.
Earlier, he met the group’s Secretary General Zhang Ming, who thanked him for supporting India as chairman of the organization.
The Indian minister described the meeting as fruitful and reiterated his country’s commitment to security and unity among SCO member states.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit will be held in India in July.
