We finally have the first details on what will be Quentin Tarantino’s final movie.
According to a report in THR Today, it will be titled The Movie Critic, and Tarantino has already written the script. He plans to direct the film in the fall.
Sources also tell THR that it will officially be his last movie, and that it will focus on a woman in the late ’70s in Los Angeles. There is currently no studio facility to finance and distribute, but it may be released to buyers as early as this week.
IGN has reached out to Tarantino’s representatives for comment. Chatter has been circulating about what will be Tarantino’s final directorial project for years now – however, there’s good reason to believe this will be the finale.
The director behind films like Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Inglourious Basterds, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood has said repeatedly that his tenth film will be his last — and though it’s already Technically He has made ten movies as of 2019, Kill Bill Part 1 and 2 is considered as one movie. So, by Tarantino’s accounts, this He was It will be his tenth movie.
He reaffirmed that his next film will be his last in the past year CNN“I’ve been doing this for a long time; I’ve been doing this for 30 years. And it’s time to quit the show.”
Tarantino made his directorial debut in 1992 with Reservoir Dogs, and would go on to become one of the most influential modern filmmakers. His latest film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, was nominated for ten Academy Awards and won two.
