Subscribers interested in getting Showtime only, no Paramount+, will still be able to get it for $10.99 per month as a stand-alone show as well as through third-party distributors.
Before the bundle was introduced, Paramount+ was priced at $4.99 per month with ads, or $9.99 without ads. (Live shows, especially sports, are not part of the no-ads promise.)
The Paramount Collection comes as Warner Bros Discovery works to combine HBO Max and Discovery+ into one app. Disney’s three-part package from Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu has been a huge hit since its launch in 2020. For now, each service within them remains separate, although it is widely expected that Hulu will move to Disney+ as soon as the Disney gets full control of Hulu in 2024.
Paramount Global said Paramount+ added 4.9 million subscribers in the second quarter ended June 30, reaching 43.3 million, the largest portion of the company’s total subscriber base of nearly 64 million. The company plans to have Paramount+ in 60 global regions by the end of the year. Outside the United States, some Showtime shows have already been broadcast on Paramount+.
