The document signed by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Shamkhani and India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval called for strengthening bilateral and regional cooperation, according to the website of the Pan-Arab chain Al Mayadeen. and the multilateral level, to coordinate good relations among regional countries.
It also identified communication channels as one of the key elements for integration and joint prosperity in the region, emphasizing in this regard the development project of Sabahar Port in Sistan and Balochistan province. The southeast of the nation is seen as a model of cooperation between Tehran and New Delhi.
The agreement emphasizes the need to strengthen joint efforts with Russia and other countries, in the context of the development of available economic corridors, especially north-south, for international traffic, and others for commercial traffic at Sabahar port.
According to the Al Mayadeen note, the parties expressed their concern over the current humanitarian and economic situation in Afghanistan and welcomed the formation of an inclusive government capable of realistic participation of all currents in the country.
Doval, during his one-day visit to the capital, will hold talks with the Iranian foreign minister and senior officials of the Islamic State.
