India is giving booster dose to health workers and those over 60 years of age starting today

India has started this Monday to deliver the booster dose of the Govt vaccine. For now, health workers, some patients over the age of sixty and the most exposed officers, are the ones who take the first and second doses the longest.

There is an urgency as the number of cases diagnosed in a week has increased to eight due to the Omigron variant. In response, several Indian states and cities have resumed emergency measures to control its spread. For example, in many places in Delhi, weekend imprisonment from 10 pm to 6 am is additionally imposed.

Many states have closed schools, shopping centers, gyms and massage parlors. Calcutta has banned flights from the United Kingdom and limited it to two-week flights on Mondays and Fridays – connecting with Delhi and Mumbai, where a third of new cases are registered.

Curfew

Big cities like Delhi had to get the weekend lock back

180,000 positive and more than 150 deaths were reported yesterday. However, there are many free beds in hospitals in cities like Delhi, although the number of infections registered at the peak of last May had already halved, according to the capital’s government chief Arvind Kejriwal, and he was further cured.

Experts are more optimistic than they were a year ago, due to the combination of immunity from those already infected and the routine improvement of the vaccine. Nearly half of Indians have access to both drugs, although in some impoverished states like Jharkhand, 70% of people over the age of 60 have not yet received them. In the most fortunate states, this year the vaccines have been extended to 15-18 year olds.

However, the main concern now being observed is the occurrence among health workers. One in three doctors working at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi says they have “govt or symptoms”.

First manufacturer

India has produced 1.5 billion vaccines at home that it has paid for

The third dose, known as the “precautionary dose” in India, is the AstraZeneca vaccine (manufactured in India under the name GoviShield and administered in 90% of cases) and added by Kovacin, an Indian laboratory.

India has also paid about one and a half lakh doses of Russian Sputnik. Although this was approved by Moderna and Johnson & Johnson, these were not granted because US laboratories are seeking immunity from potential complaints of side effects that New Delhi refuses to provide.

When India overcame the first wave of the epidemic and became the epicenter of the virus, secondly, between March and May, Pierce was severely punished with full capacity to burn more than 4,500 deaths.

The third wave

India, the most punished country, is crossing fingers that it should not be the center of the virus again

Covid has not caused so many deaths in any other country, several million, according to credible sources, although officially estimated to be less than half a million, below the United States and Brazil.

On the bright side, India, the world’s No. 1 vaccine maker, has delivered more corona virus injections than any other country – more than 1.5 billion.

In the reinforcement lines, from today, the officers were particularly exposed. Three weeks before the start of the general budget debate session, hundreds of parliamentarians tested positive for Govt, not just police officers but also deputies.
