Fans defended Angela Bassett’s reaction to Jamie Lee Curtis’ Oscar win

Angela Bassett fans rally around ‘shattered’ actress after ‘heartbreaking’ Reaction to Jamie Lee Curtis winning an Oscar.

When Curtis beat the star of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” in Best Supporting Actress category On Sunday night for her role in “Everything and Everywhere at the Same Time,” Bassett didn’t smile or stand up.

The 64-year-old looked “devastated” compared to fellow candidates Kerry Condon and Stephanie Hsu, with many Twitter users describing the reaction as “shady” and calling her a “sore loser”.

However, others have come to the American Horror Story alum’s defense.

“Angela Bassett is allowed to be clearly disappointed that she didn’t win an Oscar,” wrote one user.

Other social media users criticized the Academy for continuing to show Bassett’s face, with one writing that she should have “got up and walked out…” from the room.

A fourth fan asked the Haters to look Curtis in the face when Bassett won her Golden Globes in January, claiming she looked equally upset.

“I didn’t see all of you talking at the time,” the individual wrote.

When Curtis, 64, took to the stage to accept the Oscars in her sparkling Dolce and Gabbana gown, she dedicated the trophy to “hundreds of people.”

The ‘Freak Friday’ star explained,[To] The whole group of artists who made this movie, we just won an Academy Award.

“To all the people who have supported the genre films I’ve made for these years, thousands and hundreds of thousands of people, we just won an Academy Award together!” I continued.
