It has been confirmed that the famous voice calling app, WhatsApp, is already in its development stages for the Windows platform.
The support team of WhatsApp replied in an email to a certain Windows Phone user, stating that the app’s version for the Windows platform is already in the works.
No specific time-frame for its release has been shared, but the support team added that they currently can’t comment about release timelines, but appreciated the interest on their app. The email response from WhatsApp’s support team was reported recently by WM Poweruser.
Though the WhatsApp was already available for Android users, it is yet to be made available to iOS users. Brian Acton, Co-Founder of WhatsApp, confirmed in a recent event that the app will be released to all iOS users very soon.
Last year, during a talk at a conference for Facebook’s F8 developers’, Acton revealed that the WhatsApp team was able to refine and iterate voice calling before the launching of the app on Android. Unfortunately, he did not give specifics on the exact time-frame for its release on the iOS platform.
To recall, the Android version of WhatsApp was received without any invites or activation. The question now is, will Windows platform users get WhatsApp earlier than iOS users.
