Has our Indian Government lost its sense? Or has it got a new hobby of being called ‘The most foolish Government’?

Indian Government has planned to announce a new initiative under which every poor family living under the BPL(below poverty line) would get a free mobile phone along with free talk time. The scheme has a name as well, “Har Haath Mein Mobile”. It is to be announced on August 15. And do you know what the expense of this venture would be?
It could cost the government Rs 7,000crore. Yes, you saw the number right!

The scheme would provide a mobile phone and Rs 200 worth of local talk time to six million families living below the poverty line. The government is also exploring the idea of subsidizing services by bidding.

What does the Indian government think? A poor man who struggles to make his dawn meet dusk, a poor man who starves for two consecutive days without adequate food, an illiterate man who hardly has a place for shelter, how and why would he want a phone?
Most of the villages in India hardly have electricity, and then what will they do with the phones? How will they charge them?
A poor man who toils to get a loaf of bread, where will he find money to recharge it every time he uses it?

This is heights of insanity, I am pretty sure just like the ‘Cycle Scheme’ even this is just a way of turning money into ashes. The mobile phones for sure will be sold and the money will be used on some toddy shop! I remember reading a small cartoon on a local paper which had a picture of a the PM and a poor man, in which the poor man says,” Which Industry are you aiming for Improvement, I am sure it isn’t for my progress?” The cartoon really had me. There is for sure a reason for this drama behind the curtains.

Rather than all this, can’t they give an amount to some rehabilitation centre or some orphanages? Or maybe at least feed the poor with food for some days at least?

When will the Indian Government wake up?? When will it stop hallucinating?
