Where is that kid in us?
I have a couple of North-East Indian classmates, who are more than friendly and fun.Their bright humble face is a plus point to them.Their accent, don’t ask me,I love it! They are such great singers too.I have one of the best times with them. Now why I am telling this,is what you wonder, right?
Well, just before two days I remembering studying for my Sociology exam which spoke regionalism; Regionalism is being extremely reserved and open only to one’s own region. This might sound a small issue to you,but it isn’t.Dividing Mother India in the name of Religion, caste, class on a regional basis is a big sin being commited by mankind today.
I still remember my journeys to Andhra Pradesh and Kerala before some years,I was a little disappointed by the welcome I received from the people. They looked upon me like I had just arrived from a new planet!
Why is that we feel bound to create forts of these social menace around us?
Why is that we only learn the Title of ‘NATIONAL INTEGRATION’ in our school text books and later forget the acting part on it?
You tell me,how well do you treat a Malayali who approaches you with his accent?
How apt are you at making conversation with an approaching Sardar?
How often do you send a smile to someone who does not belong to your place, religion, caste, class or status?
We treat them as aliens;Have you ever realized how it feels? Think about it,and take a wise decision.
When you say ‘Unity in Diversity’,be faithful enough to keep its synonym! Become a child who doesn’t know the words like ‘race’ ‘religion’ ‘caste’ and other social features which are further dividing my sobbing MOTHER INDIA!!!
