You might have seen the story of an young n dynamic guy recognizing  actual call of his life through a series of incidents and ocassions.’Swades’,'Lakshya’,'Wake up Sid’ all these movies said the same thing in different backgrounds. But right now my favourite among them is a malayalam movie directed by a Young director, scripted by a lady writer and that movie’s name is nothing but ‘Ustad Hotel’It’s an amazingly refreshing, gently touching and absolutely entertaining visual treat.

When it comes to acting ,Dulquar Salman has done a very decent job and a lot of improvement can be seen in his performance when compared to his first flick. It’s a fact that he wouldn’t have been a part of malayalam cinema if he was not his father’s son.But it’s almost sure that he wont need his dad’s address to sustain here.Though he has got an awesome voice,i guess he need to give more attention to the dubbing part.Nithya Menon,as usual is absolutely charming n cute. It’s defenitely a treat to watch her on the screen.Though she dont’ve much things to do,she has done her part perfectly. It seems like she gave her own voice to the character. As she is portraying the role of someone who did her education outside Kerala, her voice and accent goes in sync with the character.Thilakan,no words just Sheer brilliance. We wont be able to imagine anyone else in his shoes. There are some people, for whom we wont be able to find an easy replacement and Mammukoya is one such name.He was so hilarious with his witty one liners.Rest of the supporting cast including Siddique,Lena,Jinu Jose,Kunchan everyone did a good job and contributed well to the movie.

Ustad Hotel has got a very good background score and nice to hear tracks which blends perfectly with the movie.’Appangal Embadum’ has already found its place in chart busters and hope to see more tracks in that list soon.

After Rajamanikyam,Chotta Mumbai,Annan Thambi and a very touching short film BRIDGE,Ustad Hotel is a perfect example for the directorial skills. The way he picturised the script and composed the frames are absolutely brilliant. The shots captured by Lokanathan has added charm to the whole movie.Scriptwise, movie is filled with well connected scenes and nice, thought provoking dialogues.Hope to see many more brilliant scripts from Anjali Menon who already proved her directorial skills in Manchadikuru.

In short,USTAD HOTEL is a well picturised, good to watch, clean entertainer.

I’ll go with 4/5 stars for Anwar Rasheed directed USTAD HOTEL,scripted by Director/Screenwriter Anjali Menon,Produced By Listin Stephen’s Magic Frames.

PS:Do Visit USTADHOTEL,they’ve got a very delecious,mouth watering menu :)
