World @ 2011 Shaping 2012
Year 2011 was one of the remarkable year in the history of mankind. The year witnessed some of the revolutionary changes across the world ranging from the fall of dictators to disastrous nuclear accidents. As a whole 2011 will be remembered as an year which again proved the power of people, their unity, and showed dictators around the world, that their fate will be always the same as what happened in the history.
2011 was an year of change for the Arab world. The Arab countries witness and felt the heat of democratic movements against the monotonous rule by dictators and dynastries in these countries. The Jasmine revolution which started in Tunasia, and later spread to other Arab countries of Egypt,Syria,Yemen led to the fall of governments in these countries after bloodsheds and brutal suppression of these movements by the govts of these countries. These revolutions nicknamed as Jasmine revolution started in Tunisia, after a 23 year old local merchent committed suicide after being beaten by policemen in public. His suicide prompted the Tunisian people to revolt against govt. which led to the end of the rule of the president. The success of these democratic movement inspired the people of Egypt which led to the fall of Hosni Mubarac and then spread to Yemen,Syria and Libya. Yemen also witnesses the change in rule and Syrians are still fighting aganist the govt.
The world also witnessed similar movements in the other parts of the world including United States which is famous for human rights and equality for all. While the movements in the Arab world was against dictators, the movement which is known as occupy wall street was organised by unemployed and educated youth against govt polices which, they accused always helped the rich. Many youth gathered in streets of united states raising these demends and similar rallies happened in other parts of the world also.
Another economic slowdown was also witnessed in the year of 2011. It started from Europe, and the countries using Euro as comman currency was badly affected by the crisis. In the begining Greece was affected by the crisis, which later spread to Italy. The rulers of both these countries lost there power as result of the economic crisis and world witnesses the rise of Germany as the protectorof European union backed by France. Most of the European countries agreed to obey the orders of German chancellor Angelena Merckal in there financial matters.
The world also saw the withdrawal of Americans from Iraq after there invasion to Iraq, which led to the fall of Saddam Hussain. The Americans who are into the war against terrorism was successful in killing on of their prime targets ,Osama Bin Laden, who terrorized the world along with his terrorist group Al-Qaeda.
Year 2011 was also a major year for India too. India also witnessed movements against corruption. These movements were able to mobilize the youth of the country. The youth of the country who were only interested in face booking and orkutting ,realized the necessity of fighting against corruption and leading India to developed nation. Indian citizens demanded for strong bill against corruption called the lokpal bill, which demands for strong actions against corruption, black money and other illegal activities.
The year was also filled with natural disasters and terrorist attacks. One of the major incident which happened was the Tsunami in Japan and subsequent nuclear accident in Japan. As estimated, the country will take almost 30 years to recover from the nuclear radiations and wastes of these accidents. This incident forced the countries to rethink about nuclear energy and some countries like Germany already decided to cut short its nuclear projects.
As a whole the past year was a mixture of ups and downs for the mankind. Some influential persons like steeve jobs and Dennis Ritchie passed away from us. Let’s all pray to the almighty for a peaceful and prosperous 2012 and all together work for the betterment of mankind.
